WHAT IS CROSSFIT?
CrossFit is the principal strength and conditioning program for many police academies and tactical operations teams, military special operations units, champion martial artists, and hundreds of other elite and professional athletes worldwide. Our program delivers a fitness that is, by design, broad, general, and inclusive. Our specialty is not specializing. Combat, survival, many sports, and life reward this kind of fitness and, on average, punish the specialist. The CrossFit program is designed for universal scalability making it the perfect application for any committed individual regardless of experience. We’ve used our same routines for elderly individuals with heart disease and cage fighters one month out from televised bouts. We scale load and intensity; we don’t change programs.
The needs of Olympic athletes and our grandparents differ by degree not kind. Our terrorist hunters, skiers, mountain bike riders and housewives have found their best fitness from the same regimen. Thousands of athletes worldwide have followed our workouts posted daily on this site and distinguished themselves in combat, the streets, the ring, stadiums, gyms and homes. We also publish the CrossFit Journal, designed to support the CrossFit community detailing the theory, techniques, and practice d by our coaches in our gym, in essence bringing your garage or gym into ours, making you a part of the CrossFit family. We offer seminars, trainer certifications, and training and regularly provide consultation services to athletic teams, coaches, and police and military agencies throughout the free world.
WORLD CLASS FITNESS IN 100 WORDS
Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar. Keep intake to levels that will support exercise but not body fat. Practice and train major lifts: Deadlift, clean, squat, presses, C&J, and snatch. Similarly, master the basics of gymnastics: pull-ups, dips, rope climb, push-ups, sit-ups, presses to handstand, pirouettes, flips, splits, and holds. Bike, run, swim, row, etc, hard and fast. Five or six days per week mix these elements in as many combinations and patterns as creativity will allow. Routine is the enemy. Keep workouts short and intense. Regularly learn and play new sports.

HOW DO I GET STARTED AT CROSSFIT TAKEOVER?
Its easy! Just give us a call and we will set you up with an introductory workout. Our “INTRO CLASSES” are generally held on Saturday mornings at 11AM. You can reserve a spot and get more infomation by contacting Coach Andy @ 310-972-0995 or andy@crossfittakeover.com
WHAT TO EXPECT IN OUR GROUP CLASSES?
Once your “Ramp-Up” sessions are complete you can start attending our regular classes. At CrossFit TakeOver a coach will always be present guiding you through group warm-ups and movement progressions and ensuring you complete the “WOD” or workout of the day safely and efficiently!
WHERE CAN I FIND THE WORKOUT OF THE DAY AND WHAT IF IT IS COMPRISED OF THINGS I CAN’T DO?
One of the coolest things about CrossFit is everyone can do the workouts! We start with a prescribed workout that is difficult for even our most advanced athletes and then scale it down according to each of our athlete’s fitness levels and strengths. Scaling or modifying our workouts is an extremely important tool and necessary for every Crossfitter’s safety and success. It is not unusual to have our classes filled with military, collegiate level athletes, senior citizens, and so-called “average joes” all completing the same workout and pushing eachother to perform their best. “Intensity is relative to the individual” and it is our coaches’job to make sure that each athlete’s workout is scaled properly.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT TO GAIN FROM BECOMING A CROSSFIT TAKEOVER ATHLETE?
It is common for our athletes to see dramatic improvements in their physical fitness, mental toughness and body composition within the first few months. Our athletes quickly perform physical tasks they had once thought impossible. At CTO you will learn how to climb ropes, lift heavy weights, run fast and push through mental barriers. You will learn how to eat for athletic performance and lifelong health. And finally you will become part of an awesome community of dedicated athletes and great people who not only care about their success but yours as well!
